Jamie 2 - Exploring the Yard climb_cage

Carefully selecting each paw-hold, Jamie began her climb. She placed one paw on the roof, then the other, then pulled... pulled... pulled... yiiiipes, she almost exclaimed out loud, as one paw slipped loose, and Jamie clung on desperately with her remaining claw hold. Looking down, she saw the black trap right under her - if she let go and fell, Lucy would wake up for sure!

With every ounce of strength in her tiny body, Jamie pulled herself back up and reached the top of her cage at last. After a brief rest, she carefully slid down the opposite side to the tabletop. Jamie paused and listened carefully; Lucy's heavy breathing continued without pause, and Jamie could hear no sign of Mittens the cat, either. Yes, Jamie decided as she slid down the tablecloth to the floor, this was a good night for an adventure.

Very carefully, Jamie made her way across the floor toward the door leading to the bathroom. She paused before entering, listening carefully for any unusual noise. Satisfied, she thought about how to reach the outside of the house.

Earlier she had noticed a hole beside the bathtub, perhaps made by a mouse trying to get away from the cold. If a mouse could use that hole to get inside, surely Jamie could use it to get outside. On the other paw, Lucy's Dad had been working on the outlet beside the sink, and had still not replaced the cover. If she could get into the wall, then perhaps she could find an opening to the outside from there.

Try to squeeze through the mouse hole by the bathtub.

Climb to the sink and go through the outlet.
