You take the apple from your pocket and hold it out toward the ogre in the universal "take this" jesture. The ogre eyes you suspiciously, then he eyes the apple hungrily. Suspicion and hunger wage a battle and for one terrible moment, you wonder if he will kill you for the apple. Then, moving faster than you ever imagined such a huge creature could move, the ogre grabs the apple from your hand and scampers to the far corner.
With his back toward you, the ogre makes a series of grunts, slurps, and chomps. Finally he lets out a satisfied * buuuurp *, then turns and eyes you as he might his long-lost mother.
Despite his poor table manners, you decide this ogre's not such a bad guy (animal?) after all...
