As you slide the dust-covered piano bench away from the keyboard, it visibly sags. You decide it would definitely not hold you up. You have never taken piano lessons, but you have enough musical ability to play a fair rendition of the Munsters theme.
Suddenly a loud "Sprooiiiing" assaults your ears; you step back in surprise, tripping over the door in the process. As you clatter to the floor in a cloud of dust and debris, you realize that a piano string has broken.
Unfortunately, so is your foot. You say a silent prayer that it isn't really broken, just badly sprained. You drag yourself to the coffee table and manage to stand with most of your weight on your good foot. The ankle hurts badly, and you realize that you will have to get help.
You manage to half-walk, half-crawl back to the creek, where you find Shadow Flight huddled. "You went in that old building?" gasps Kim. "You must be crazy."
Nevertheless, the group helps you back to your house, where your parents quickly take you to the hospital. The ankle is worse than you thought, and the doctor decides to keep you in the hospital for a couple of days.
The next day the members of Shadow Flight come to visit you. They apologize over and over again, and you can tell they're very sorry about what happened.
"We'd really like for you to join our club," Kim offers. "You certainly proved that you are brave enough, and you did your best to uphold your flight instructions."
