We toured Westminster Abbey for about 1 1/2 hours, which is filled with tombs of many historic figures who died for God, queen and country. Also fascinating were the Olde English spellings of writing dating back hundreds of years.
We saw the tomb of Mary, Queen of Scots, and of the late Queen Mum. Next to the tomb of the Unknown Soldier from the Great War (WWI) was the tomb of David Livingston, with a testimonial to the many good works he accomplished.
In the gift shop (out of the way in typical understated British fashion), we obtained a book on the Abbey, and Elizabeth began a spoon collection. Janet also added a beautiful replica crown to her thimble collection.
